Indy 500 Contest to be held again

   The Town of Albion, along with the Super Town of Albion (S.T.A.R.) Team, is once again entering the Indy 500 Contest.

   Last year our efforts placed the Town of Albion in Second place.  We have been encouraged to enter the race again this year.  In 2011 there was only one prize awarded for 1st place.  In 2012 there will be 3 places awarded.  All prize money will be used to benefit the Community with downtown revitalization and business retention/attraction.

  This is where you/your organization come into the picture.  The S.T.A.R. Team is few in number, we are asking for your help in this venture.  We would like to involve as many people as possible who are willing to lend a hand.  We have many opportunities:

1. Hold an event to commemorate the Indy500 and our racing traditions;

2. Take pictures, video’s (no more than 2 minutes each);

3. Website;

4. Decorating.

   Businesses will be asked to decorate their windows/store fronts for the occasion.  Any business who participates will be given (2) tickets to the Qualification Day time trials.

  We must be up and running by April 21st, 2012 to be within the timeline of the contest.  This means everything must be decorated, filmed, documented on the Web site and ready to go by April 21.

  There will be an organizational meeting on March the 8th at 6:30 at the Library, in the Activity  Room downstairs.

    Won’t you please give a little time to help our Town blossom for this event?

    If you have questions before the meeting on March 8th, call Beth Shellman: 564-5408 or e-mail albionmanager@frontier.com
