Mission

The mission of the Albion Volunteer Fire Department is to serve the residents of the town of Albion and adjacent areas by providing emergency fire, rescue, medical, hazardous material, fire prevention, and any operation needed to support the safety, welfare, and well being of the community. The Albion Volunteer Fire Department is best demonstrated in their motto “Making a Difference” in the lives of those they serve and protect.

Albion Volunteer Fire Department Overview:

The Albion Volunteer Fire Department is an entity of the Town of Albion. The Albion volunteer Fire Department is a Volunteer Fire Department the consists of 35 volunteer firefighters. The Albion Volunteer Fire Department provides fire protection, rescue, emergency medical first responder, hazardous material management, fire code enforcement, and fire prevention services for the Town of Albion, Albion Township, Jefferson Township, Elkhart Township, York Township, and Green Township 24/7. The Albion Volunteer Fire Department also provides mutual aid assistance to all the Fire Departments of Noble County and the neighboring communities in Allen, LaGrange, Steuben, and Whitley Counties and is a member of the Indiana State-wide Mutual Aid System.

The Albion Volunteer Fire Department’s primary financial support is provided by the taxpayers of the Town of Albion and contracted Townships. However, due to budgetary limitations of these governmental agencies, the Albion Volunteer Fire Department finds it necessary to raise additional funding through special fund raising activities such as fire extinguisher sales, pancake breakfasts, fund drives, and grants to purchase additional fire/rescue/medical equipment and training to improve essential emergency services provided to the community and surrounding area.

The motto of the Albion Volunteer Fire Department, “Making a Difference” reflects their overall attitude of their mission to provide the very best emergency services to their community, and Noble County.
