Recreation Members




The residents of Noble County are fortunate to live in a natural area for recreation and outdoor activities. The county has over 100 lakes, many with public access, for such activities as fishing, sailing, boating, water-skiing, etc. Noble County also offers many acres of woods and rolling terrain for enjoyable hours of outdoor recreation. In addition, activities are not limited to one season, but are constantly changing. 

 



Albion Parks and Recreation Dept. - (totaling 50 acres) - Valley View Park (baseball diamond), Hidden Diamonds Park (baseball diamonds, soccer fields, sand volleyball, pavilions, playground etc) and Owen Park (pavilion, play area)

 


Chain O' Lakes State Park - State Road 9 three miles south of Albion. 2355 E 75 S. (260) 636-2654. Activities include - fishing, boating, hiking, camping, swimming, cross-country skiing, row and paddle boats, nature center. in.gov/dnr/parklake/2987.html

Cole Center Family YMCA - Located in Kendallville includes - Olympic size swimming pool, full sized gym, racquetball courts, weight lifting room, and  other activity rooms.

Outdoor Tennis and Basketball available at the Central Noble School Campus

Hidden Diamonds has Basketball Courts, Disc Golf, Water Splash pad and other recreational activties.

Center Stage Auditorium - At Central Noble School Campus

Finished and dedicated in the year 2000. This building is hoped to house not only school events but many community activities.

Merry Lea Environmental Learning Center - P.O. Box 263,

An environmental learning center of Goshen College, this 1,150 acre complex of fields, forests, bogs and meadows on the west side of High Lake, offers hiking, birdwatching, plant studies, cross-country skiing, ice skating, group visits, class visits, program and annual events.

Old Jail Historical Museum - Run by the Noble County Historical Society, PO Box 152, Albion, (260) 636-2803. Located on West Main Street, Albion. Erected in 1875, designed to house the  prisoners and sheriff. It is on the National Registrar of Historical Places. Open June through August. Groups visit by appointment.
